RISE is a full-day workshop designed for teenage girls to celebrate individuality, build self-confidence, and support mental and emotional health. Participants will engage in hands-on activities and hear from a variety of guest speakers on empowering topics, including:

• Lean On Me: Developing Trust and Dependability

• It’s Not Always Bad: When Stress and Anxiety Help and When They’re Hard

• Don’t Let Them Win: Talking Back to Your Negative Self

• Who Am I?: Identity Bracelets

Parent/Caregiver Session:
In the afternoon, parents and caregivers will join for a special discussion and vision board activity to connect, reflect, and support their teen’s growth.

With the 2023 Surgeon General advisory on youth social media use and problematic mental health outcomes as well as community conversations regarding books like The Anxious Generation, discussions around connection, belonging, and the digital world are overdue.

Join Issaquah School District Parents, Marcelle Waldman and Jerry Blackburn, the creators of Parenting Upstream, as they explore the concerning data surrounding compulsive device and social media use as well as the components of creating connection, belonging and healthy social media habits.

NAMI Eastside hosts monthly educational forums that cover a variety of topics about mental health. All forums are free to attend. Please register at the corresponding link posted with each upcoming forum.

All forums are on the last Tuesday of every month from 7:00 – 8:00 PM and are held virtually.

Empower Youth Network is hosting the annual Key Leaders Summit at the Snoqualmie Valley Alliance Church. The summit is a great opportunity for leaders and community members to network and engage in relevant community conversations, collaborations and actions. This year’s topic, “Creating Connection in an Increasingly Digital World,” is inspired by the book, The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness, by Johnathan Haidt. Join us and help as we explore what it means to be connected as a community in an increasingly digital world. Hear perspective from local youth and help create strategies we might employ to change our trajectory.
